How a Joint Account works
A Joint Account is one account held by two people. Rather than juggling two logins, both holders share a single set of credentials and a single four-digit transaction PIN, so either of you can bank without waiting on the other.
- Both holders are recorded on the account and named on statements and receipts.
- One password and one shared transaction PIN, agreed between you.
- Identity verification is completed for each holder separately.
- Account confirmations and transaction receipts reach both inboxes.
Getting started
Open an account in four steps

Step 1
Choose your account
Pick from ten account types. Selecting Joint adds a step for your co-holder.
Step 2
Tell us who you are
Name, date of birth, address and contact details for every holder on the account.
Step 3
Secure it
Set a password and a four-digit transaction PIN. On a joint account both are shared.
Step 4
Verify identity
Upload government photo ID and proof of address. Joint accounts need a set for each holder.
